Freeride World Tour check-in: Hallo Austria!

Through the stops in Japan and British Columbia, the Freeride World Tour has bounced back overseas to the Austrian Tyrol, where the riders will take on Fieberbrunn this weekend.

The competition has been confirmed for Saturday morning Austrian time, which will make for an inconvenient 1:45 a.m. Saturday (late Friday night) start time in the central timezone of the Midwest.

The venue, known as the Wildseeloder, is famous for being one of the more technical faces in the tour and a perfect way to kick off the tricky European part of the tour.

Heading into the competition Saturday morning, only two competitions are behind us but the rider rankings are starting to crystalize.

For ski men, Markus Eder continues his strong season at the top, ahead of Craig Murray and American Wild Card Tanner Hall. Eder will drop in second Saturday morning.

Arianna Tricomi, a fellow Italian with Eder, also leads the ski women category with a healthy lead. Jacqueline Pollard, an American, is in third, but almost 1,000 points behind Tricomi.

On the snowboard side, two French riders lead the way: Victor De La Rue for the men and Marion Haerty for the women.
